SEGA have revealed some gameplay footage from the upcoming Sonic Mania and it shows off a new act.
The act that is shown within the video is the Green Hill Zone Act 2, and also revealed in a press release is one of the new bosses coming to the title. It shows an all new area that has been added exclusively to Sonic Mania and expands from Act 1. There’s all manner of new obstacles and secrets, and Sonic can now use fire to burn log bridges to his advantage.
The boss we learn about is the “Hard Boiled Heavies” and they come as part of Eggman’s new team of baddies. They are apparently notably different from the original boss, but not much is given away except the first “Heavy Gunner” occurs at the end of Act 1’s Studiopolis. They are a large robot with a helicopter loaded with a rocket launcher.
Sonic Mania is arriving on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this Spring.
