Yakuza 0 and Persona 5 Are PlayStation Exclusives, Sega Confirms

SEGA confirm that Yakuza 0 and Persona 5 are PlayStation Exclusive and are coming to nothing else except the PlayStation consoles despite confusion circulating Sony’s latest PlayStation Exclusives video.

It seems to be looking like Sony have failed to get their facts right with this years PlayStation Exclusives video. Firstly we had Detroit: Become Human, and Dreams having to state that they are not confirmed for 2017 despite appearing in the trailer; and now we have SEGA having to confirm that Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 are coming to PlayStation only.

This came about after Persona 5 appeared in the PlayStation Exclusive video, indicating that the game could be moving onto other consoles. It wasn’t until Atlus USA/SEGA PR Manager, Josh Hardin shut rumours down with the above tweet. There were also rumours around the Amazon box art for Yakuza 0 saying, “PS4 Console Exclusive Game” on it. Josh states that that’s nothing to do with them, but more so Sony.

I personally find the speculation a little bit confusing and obviously it’s all just a matter of how the mention of the games being exclusive to only one console have been worded. To me, if it says it’s an exclusive, then surely that means it’s an exclusive for that console and nothing else? At least for the time being anyway. We’ve seen “exclusives” jump on board another console a few years down the line before, so it isn’t unheard off, however SEGA do have a reputation of not being very nomadic and sticking to their guns. Who knows.

So with that information, Persona 5 will be hitting PS4 and PS4 only on April 4th this year, and Yakuza 0 is coming to PS4 only on January 24th.
