Introversion Software’s upcoming title allows players to go deep underground and navigate around cave systems in complete darkness. Sounds strange?
Scanner Sombre will see players navigating a pitch black cave complex deep underground in a first person perspective, with the task to make it back to the surface, but the title takes an abstract, and psychedelic twist by offering the player a LIDAR scanner that will reveal what is amongst the darkness as a collection of dots.
While the title would be a great casual, exploring experience from what it looks like, there is something lurking in the darkness.
“This is a very different experience to Prison Architect. It’s a shorter, but a more involved, claustrophobic game distilling a deep sense of unease into a single play session. It’s probably going to make you feel a bit uncomfortable.” – Mark Morris (Managing Director at Introversion Software)
You can view the launch trailer below, and it’ll be launching on PC tomorrow on the 26th of April 2017.
