The Stagger style, the most unusual style of Absolver, has been detailed in a new trailer.
Devolver digital have released a new trailer for Slocap’s upcoming online multiplayer combat title, this time detailing the Stagger combat style.
It’s all a little bit Drunken Monkey, with the characters moving irrationally, abruptly leaning and tilting in order to better transfer weight into powerful attacks and also catch the enemies off-guard. The new trailer shows the style being used effectively in close quarters melee combat, but also in combination with a rapier-like blade which massive extends the reach of the Stagger student, and adds to the unpredictable nature of the technique.
Absolver takes place in a strange world where players take on the role of Prospects in the collapsing Adal Empire. Players must learn, and deploy, new techniques as they explore a rugged, peculiar world filled with both other players and AI who are out to stop them.
Absolver launches for PS4 & PC on August 29th. Last year it was announced to be “Coming to Playstation first” so there may be a chance of an Xbox version in the future.
