Snoop Dogg’s latest sidequest is, it would seem, getting assassinated by Agent 47 as the newest Hitman World of Assassination Elusive Target.
It’s hard to believe that popular immersive sim Hitman has now been out for ten years. There were certainly a few points (namely when they shifted between the three releases) where the future of the, now long-running, game (and subsequently series) seemed to be hanging in the balance. However, it’s clear that the team are doing well, not least through the successful launch of the recent 007 game, but through how they’ve really reactivated the special Elusive Targets over the past year – having just recently cycled out the Eminem crossover.
Well, with Eminem out of the way, it’s now the turn for Snoop Dogg – the popular 90s rapper – to get taken out as part of the franchise, as he has lent both his likeness and voice to Dr Cyrus Cane, AKA ‘The Herbalist’, who is the latest Elusive Target to join the series. Additionally, Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell, will feature as a party guest.
In game Dr. Cyrus Cane is an eccentric entrepreneur who is throwing a pre-launch party for their new cookie brand: Morsizzles. The big issues is that these cookies have caused more than a couple of deaths and, as such, Diana and Agent 47 have been tasked with stopping the cookies from reaching the market, and killing their creator.
The Elusive Contract will take place on the Haven Island map, with it’s secure compound and long-beaches; A map that has been underused since it was added in. I’m excited to see how it all plays out.
In addition to the free Elusive Target, the Season of the Herbalist has launched and is free for all players. This includes a new roadmap with challenges, featured contracts and more. The Undying Returns will also cycle around during this season.
And, as with previous celebrity elusive targets, a pack is available to purchase. This will get you the Visionary Arcade contract and The Herbalist Assignment, for a total of 16 challenges. It also awards a few bonus items including a ‘custom’ mic, Big Biz Briefcase, The Entrepreneur Fur Coat and more.
