Miss Nintendo Direct? Here’s The Skinny
Nintendo yesterday ran Nintendo Direct, and in the 35 minute video, we are shown footage of 3DS titles, Switch titles, and other bits and pieces. Let’s have a look at what came from the video.
The Nintendo Direct video got its own place on the Nintendo Homepage yesterday, where viewers from all over the world flocked too watch the latest Nintendo Direct that detailed the release dates of titles we were already aware about, introduces some titles we weren’t aware about, and shows off some new equipment and amiboo’s. Below are the 3DS announcements and the Switch announcements.They go in order of the video, so if you’re unable to watch the video, you can pretend you’ve watched it by following the order.
3DS Announcements
Trailers are either from Nintendo’s Official YouTube Channel, or from other channels who have uploaded the trailers to their accounts.
- First up came a 3DS title, Hey! Pikmin which will be arriving on the 28th of July 2017 and with an amiboo becoming available for it too which will allow players to call in a backup Pikmin.

- Ever Oasis, a cute title by developer, Grezzo will be arriving for the Nintendo 3DS on the 23rd of June 2017.

- Monster Hunter Stories will also be arriving this year for the 3DS, and looks to feature some great battles and flying moments. No release date has been confirmed, but we do know that it’ll be arriving this Fall.
- Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters is another 3DS title that will be arriving sometime this Fall.

- Culdcept Revolt by NIS America will be arriving on the 3DS this August on the 29th.

- RPG Maker Fes will be arriving on the 3DS, and allows players to create their own RPG title, taking control of the dialogue options, characters, maps and more. This will be arriving on June the 27th.

- Miitopia had already been released in Japan last December on the 3DS, but now it’s time for everyone else to get a go as the title is set for a 3DS release sometime this year.

- Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be arriving on 3DS, and with amiboo’s too. It’s meant to be arriving on the 20th April 2017 with two DLC’s launching alongside it on release day, one of those DLC’s shall be free.

- Kirby’s 25th Anniversary brings, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe to 3DS consoles, this title is available for download already.

- Kirby’s Blowout Blast is another 3DS title that will be arriving sometime this Summer.

- There will also be a new multiplayer action game for the Nintendo 3DS which will be coming this holiday. No details except from that was released. Oooh mysterious.
- Bye-Bye Boxboy! has arrived on 3DS consoles as well, with a side-scrolling, puzzle theme. There will be four amiboo’s arriving for this title and a demo is available right now.

- There are also going to be three new amiboo’s arriving for the Legend of Zelda series, featuring child Link, and two adult links, one with the Master sword and Hyrulian Shield. These will be arriving on the 23rd June. Not only that but there are another three amiboo figures for Super Smash Bros on the 3DS and Wii U, these will be, Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta. The three figures will be available in two costumes.
Nintendo Switch Announcements

- ARMS gets a feature and explains features that we already know, but does state that there will be a 2-on-2 battle mode, and will be arriving on the 16th of June 2017. We also get to see a new yellow coloured Joy-Con which will be arriving on the 16th June as well. Mmm. Banana colour. Also announced was a AA battery pack for the Joy-Con’s which increases the life of a Joy-Con.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes with an online racing and battle mode, with players being able to play online, regionally, or with friends. Tournaments are another online mode where players can create or take part in the mode and have their races stats recorded for the standings. The title will be arriving this month on the Nintendo Switch for the 28th.

- Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers by Capcom will see a high quality, but retro feeling coming to the Switch console. It’s not all retro feeling though as players will also be able to go First Person in a game mode that allows them to perform Hadouken moves at spawning enemies. This will be arriving on May the 26th for Nintendo Switch.

- Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition. Yep. It’s happening. Minecraft is going to also be arriving on the Nintendo Switch on the 11th of May 2017.
- Arcade Archives will be bringing titles like, Fatal Fury, Over Top, Blazing Star, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Samurai Showdown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge, King of Fighters ’99, Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors, Shock Troopers 2nd Squad, to the Nintendo Switch. There is no release date for this yet, but it’s certainly on its way.
- Sonic Forces by SEGA will be arriving for the Nintendo Switch and will bring the speedy blue hedgehog to the console in a 3D environment to the console with moments of side scrolling classic Sonic. It’ll be arriving in the Holiday of 2017.

- Sonic Mania, also by SEGA will be arriving this Summer for the Nintendo Switch and sees the classic, retro titles in a HD theme, while staying true to the classic titles graphics.

- Project Mekuru (Working Title) will be brings a title in which players must colour all the titles of the board in their colour. It supports up to four players. It’ll be arriving sometime this Summer for the Nintendo Switch.

- Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star by Xseed Games will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch, and we have already got a review on the PC version which was written up by Pete Taylor here at Big Boss Battle. July the 25th will see the title arriving for the Switch console.

- Disgaea 5 Complete by NIS America, a JPRG title with plenty of battles will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch consoles for May the 23rd.

- Puyo Puyo Tetris by SEGA brings a battle of Tetris to the Nintendo Switch with up to four players being able to rack up those blocky points. There is a demo available to download from the eShop.

- Monopoly will also be coming for the Nintendo Switch, and will be available to play docked or undocked. It’ll be due for release sometime this Fall.

- Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition by Ubisoft are pushing the title to the Nintendo Switch, letting players take control of Rayman in the wonderful platforming title. It’s due to come out at some point this year.

- Sine Mora EX by THQ Nordic brings side scrolling bullet hell to the Nintendo Switch consoles this Summer.

- Also by THQ Nordic will be Battle Chasers: Nightwar arriving for the Nintendo Switch, willbring top down adventure and side-on turn based combat. It’ll be arriving this Summer as well.

- Payday 2, quite possibly my personal surprise piece of the whole Nintendo Direct presentation, this title by Starbreeze will see players teaming up with friends to rob banks in this violent FPS title. The release date is still be be announced but will be arriving this year.

- NAMCO Museum will be bringing another collection of arcade classics, this time by NAMCO, so expect plenty of Pacman, Rolling Thunder, Skykid, and more. This will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch for this Summer.

- Nintendo also confirmed that they are going to begin selling the Nintendo Switch Dock as a standalone piece, and this will become available to purchase on the 19th of May 2017.
- Splatoon 2 will also be getting three amiboo’s, and a new mode, but I’ll let you guys watch the rather entertaining reveal for that by leave this here.
