Title: Eredia : The Diary of Heroes

What type of game is it?
JRPG
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
An extensive fantasy world with a day/night cycle, guild contracts and a combo and slot based battle system.
What do we like most about it?
It’s extremely easy to make something in RPGMaker, as a lot of people will tell you. However, making an expansive game with custom systems is a complicated deal, and making something as in-depth as Eredia is extremely impressive.
RPGs are always at their best when they layer new ideas over the top of popular systems. Linking together a skill combo system with slight crafting and equipment customisation options is certainly nothing overly new, but rewriting a map screen to create a quest system tied to three guilds is extremely impressive within the engine, and further still building a calendar and time system into the game in a light, low-resource consuming fashion, that also ties into gameplay is extremely impressive.
The great fear that a lot of people have regarding RPGM games is that 95% of the content is reused assets, and core mechanics. Eredia is far from that, and easily looks set to rank up there with the Dancing Dragon Games also made with the engine; but at times barely unrecognisable as so.
When’s it due?
Eredia : The Diary of Heroes is set to launch on Windows PC & Mac at some point in 2017.
