THQ Nordic Confirm Release Dates for Elex, Spellforce 3, Battle Chasers: Nightwar

THQ Nordic have confirmed 2017 release dates for three of their upcoming titles ahead of their E3 showcase.

Late yesterday THQ Nordic confirmed the release date of Spellforce 3 and Battle Chasers: Nightwar, as well as releasing a new date for Elex, which moved back from August to an October release date.

Spellforce 3, the latest entry in the 14 year old franchise, will be launching exclusively for the PC on the 7th of December. The game is currently in closed beta testing balancing it’s multiplayer mode. Developers Grimlore, one of THQ Nordic’s internal studios, are developing the game.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar, the first title from Airship Syndicate, will launch on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on the 3rd of October. Airship Syndicate were formed out of the ashes of Darksiders developer Vigil Games, and takes place in the setting of  of studio lead Joe Madureira’s Battle Chasers comic series.

Elex, the latest title from European RPG veterans Piranha Bytes, will launch on the 17th of October for the Xbox One, PS4 & PC.

We attended a closed-doors event for the three titles last month, and you’ll see our opinions on the titles going up on the site over the next few days (starting with our Elex preview, which will be live here at 2PM BST today.)

It’s safe to assume that we’ll see more of these titles at this year’s E3, as well as some AquaNox: Deep Descent, Darksiders III, and The Guild 3.

They’re also known to be working with the developers of “This is the Police” (Which we reviewed last year), on their next title. More entries in the ‘This is the’ series have been discussed as future uses for the IP, but details are light on the ground. With the recent PC release of De Blob, and remaster and console/PC release of DS classic Lock’s Quest, it’s clear that the publisher has no fear of handling lots of projects at once.
