Warcube Explosions, Growing Enemies, And Early Access

Haven Made are a small independent developer working on what appears to be three games. There is certainly knowledge on the one game that’s being created by “Craigz” and titled, “Warcube“. There are two other developers on the team, Rob, and John, who have “Unannounced” next to there name, suggesting that perhaps their are another two games in development from the Haven Made team.

Warcube is a vibrant, beat-em-up type game focusing on a type of hero cube, that jumps around the world aerobically, slashing up cubical enemies in a setting that resembles battlegrounds, and enemy camps. It looks really rather interesting, and one of it’s selling points is the dramatic slow motion function that makes the action look even more fancy. The game appears to be doing well amongst the community, and even showcased it’s cubical, polygonal curves at PAX this year.

It was announced back in October that Craigz had introduced explosions – as seen below – with a “127%” increase in death. The polygonal world seems to be looking even more colourful, and there’s even shrubbery animations, as well as an explosion force field that pushes not only the enemies into the sky, but also objects nearby. There has been a recent update on Craigz Twitter featuring yet another GIF from his Warcube development, this time showing the new system of enemies growing in size if they defeat you. This “nemesis system” looks like it could be a very interesting addition, the question is though, how many times can they grow in power? Will it get to the point where they essentially become a boss? Does the hero grow in power?

The other update came about on the 24th October when a video featuring a cubical version of Craigz was released announcing an early access release in January 2017, although no date was specified, it’s certainly worth keeping an ear to the ground. Check out our Greenlight Highlight on Warcube

What are your thoughts on Warcube? Are you as excited as I am!? Slow motion, jumping, attack battles!
