Friend and Foe Games’ Vane is a strange beast, a game of exploring desolate, ruin-laden landscapes of looming scale both on foot and by crow’s flight.
There’s not much that can be told about the game from the trailer, although it is clear that the world itself seems to be haunted by the events surrounding it’s destruction.
Images on the developer’s website infer an Ico and Shadow of the Colossus level of scale when playing as the young child character we see at the start of the trailer, which is then completely juxtaposed as you take to the sky as a bird to glide from location to location.
There have been several hands on reports coming from the PlayStation Experience event where it got it’s reveal, notably IGN‘s detailed an easy to control flight system which you use to travel great distances towards glinting markers.They also reported that you’re not only sky-bound, but can also glide along land-forms and through caverns.
Vane is expected to launch on PS4 in 2017.
