Yacht Club Games’ new trailer showcases the Specter Knight, the protagonist within the upcoming, free Specter of Torment expansion.
Shovel Knight launched in mid 2014 to critical acclaim following a successful Kickstarter campaign. One of the stretch goals in the phenomenally well received campaign was the later addition of three extra campaigns for the game as free updates, which the developer has been working tirelessly towards, having released the Plague of Shadows expansion last year.
Next up, then, is the Specter Knight who played an integral role in forming the Order of No Quarter for the Enchantress, and subsequently playing a critical role in the main campaign. Due to the nature of his role, Specter’s story begins before that of Shovel Knights, so much so that the developer has stated it could easily have manifested as a standalone experience.
Specter of Torment will include new music, areas, enemies, bosses and equipment, as well as new moves and powers.
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment will launch in Spring of 2017 as a free update on all platforms; including PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS and Kindle Fire.
