NieR: Automata Runs Third Live Stream, Shows Prototype, Merch, Collabs, And More

Square Enix early this morning hosted their third live stream for upcoming JRPG title, NieR: Automata.

The live stream took place by starting off by showing some footage of NieR – Androids, which was what NieR: Automata was titled while it was still a prototype. We see the character firing bullets while also stringing swordplay into the mix. For a while the location is set within a type of blank room, but shortly it opens up to a world in which you follow a linear path taking down enemy androids. The game merges between 3D third person gameplay, to Side scrolling, and even top down, simulating a bullet hell feel. This part of the stream ends after a huge boss has been taken down.

They also announced that there will be a NieR: Automata PS4 model that will feature Emil on the top cover. The model will be revealed next week in Japan. Not only that but they teased some hoodies that will be available, and of course those cookies they showed in the second stream returned.

Monster Hunter Frontier Z gave a quick nod to the upcoming collaboration with NieR: Automata, featuring a headpiece for males and females. This isn’t the only item available from the collaboration.

There was also a release date for the NieR: Automata Original Soundtrack, which will be available on the 2nd of March 2017. From what has been heard so far, the soundtrack is going to be fantastic when driving! There was also an announcement introducing the news that NieR: Automata and Amazarashi have joined together to bring even more pumping tracks to the game.

Japan will get the full game on February 23rd 2017, America will get it on March 7th, and Europe will have it on March 10th. Those dates are for PS4 releases. There is a PC game in the works, but there has been no date confirmed for that yet.
