Mini Boss Babble Episode 8: Part 2 – Epic’s Accidental Crossplay
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast.
In this Mini Boss Babble we discuss the recent news of Epic’s Fortnite accidentally enabling cross-play between the Xbox One & PS4.
The discussion mainly revolves around the reasoning for it happening, with some members of the team convinced that this is a case of Epic Games doing it to prove that the technology behind it is not difficult, and that it is —in fact— the console manufacturers who are being difficult.
Interestingly, the game which seemed most likely to achieve full cross-platform play was last year’s super-successful Rocket League, which as a coincidence is developed on Epic Games’ Unreal engine.
The topic was originally proposed by Jorge, who couldn’t make the podcast, so Terry opened instead. Dann, Dan & Toby were also present.
