What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

Explore a deadly world armed only with your trusty weaponised fishing rod as you, Little Red Hook, journey to defeat the Skyfish.

What do we like most about it?

With a perspective similar to Zelda LttP,  a wonderful hand-drawn art style, and the clever use of a fishing rod as a weapon-cum-grappling hook, there’s actually not much to dislike about the title. Even the music in the game, a score by Sean Beeson (Epic Mickey 2,  Eternity’s Child, and a whole lot more), is absolutely perfect to the bright, cheerful visuals.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a fishing rod used as a main item/weapon in a game, Umihara Kawase takes that ticket, but it is the first time that it’s been used in this perspective, and so fluidly shifted between puzzle-solver and foe-crusher.

When’s it due?

Legend of the Skyfish is currently listed for release in early 2017 for Windows PC & Mac.
