Fresco Aims to Bend Your Mind
On the 1st October 2016, Yannick Gerometta pushed out an Unlisted YouTube video showing the gameplay mechanics of his first person exploration game. The mechanic shown within the video is incredibly unique, in that you pick up a colourful painting hung on the wall, move the artwork among the monochromatic, and minimalist world you venture around and line it up with the structures that are shown in the painting and in the real world, and then the painting, once placed beams a projection of itself onto the real world, allowing you to progress.
The game focuses a lot of attention on making you aware of your surroundings, and being very observant. It seems like you’ll be able to carry the paintings around the world until you find a match, flipping the painting 180 degrees to change the direction the stairs ahead face, and well, it’s really clever. It certainly looks like it’s going to challenge your brain with it’s mind-boggling, perspective puzzle, The website shows some very interesting images of mechanics now shown in the video, such as tilted frames, and big projected doorways,
The video below was the video that was released and doesn’t show what the gameplay will be like when it is finished, as it’s still in very early development, but from what has been showcased so far looks very intriguing.
