Pikuniku (PC, Xbox & Switch)

Pikuniku is a delightfully absurd puzzle platformer brought to us by Devolver Digital and from the minds of French-British indie collective Sectordub. Taking place in a weird and crazy world where everything isn’t quite as happy as it seems at first glance. It’s bright, colorful and the puzzles themselves are fairly suitable for most players of all ages.

The story revolves around the local mythical beast; Piku; who after emerging from his cave and meeting the locals turns out to be quite lovable and not the angry monster they assumed he would be. Piku is little more than a red pill with gangly legs but the hat mechanics used to solve many of the puzzles add another level of depth to players wishing to progress. Younger players may simply enjoy rolling around the world meeting the villagers and collecting coins.

In addition to the single player content, players can cooperate along a set of missions where players control both Piku and Niku to solve a number of problems together. My kids loved the animation and the situations they found themselves in with plenty of laughter generated by the wacky physics and gameplay.

Genuinely funny at times and always interesting to play and watch its a real treat that is available now on Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 with the added benefit of currently being available on Xbox/PC Game Pass.
