Pine, an action adventure title inspired by elements from various games has got until the 11th of April until its Kickstarter run comes to an end and is searching for funds to hit a goal of €100,000. It’s a title being developed by Twirlbound and looks like an interesting project.

Twirlbound have already put in some good time with Pine, and have some gameplay footage available for viewing in their trailer. currently the Kickstarter sits at over 2,000 backers, and are just under €60,000. The trailer can be found by going here. We ran coverage on the Kickstarter before we started up BOOT, and our piece was on the title being close to hitting the halfway mark.

Pine is a title based in a world of Albamare, a place where humans never reached the top of the food chain and a tribe member named, Hue is out to find a new home for the rest of the tribe. The task won’t be easy though as the world grows and falls depending on your choices, and while the game follows a linear story line, the characters and settings will change depending on choices made. It’s a game that has the adventure style inspired by The Legend of Zelda Titles, a nemesis system inspired by Shadow of Mordor, a choice system developed by Fable, and a fluid combat system similar to Bloodborne.

The title is to be an open world island with evolving and de-evolving creatures that can either be befriended or be a dangerous enemy that learn from your movements. The world will continue to change without your involvement, and will see species die out or thrive, it brings a huge range of life to the project, and I know I’m rambling on about the wildlife, but don’t worry, there’s more to it than that. There are secrets to learn, Vaults to explore, areas to explore, and tools to find that will help you in various scenarios as you travel across the world, pushing through various dynamic weather systems amongst a natural day/night cycle.

Should the Kickstarter become successful, Twirlbound have hopes to find the best partner to work with to bring the title to completion. They’re developing the title in the Unity 5 engine and have plans to bring the game to PC, Mac, and Linux, and also the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

The stretch goals start off at €125,000 which will bring the Albamare Arena to the game, a combat honing experience where players can learn enemy AI, and test out weapons. At current there are no more stretch goals to list, but there are more to be announced.
