The Pokémon Company International Announces Champion of Champions Tournament Following Pokémon Champions Mobile App Launch
Last month, Pokemon Champions announced their launch on mobile, following the release of the game on Nintendo Switch earlier this year. Pokemon Champions allows you to take part in Pokemon battles against a bunch of other players. It’s got a massive fan-base and is extremely popular.

It only makes sense that the Pokemon Company International announces a bunch of tournaments for those who are playing Pokemon Champions what with the tournament-theme and Pokemon’s regular regional championships for their other games. These tournaments, called the Champion of Champions Tournaments, will take place on July 29th, at 2pm London Time, bringing together eighth standout individuals, four of which are already announced:
- Whistling Champion – Ayna Ziordia Botella [Spain]
- Pizza Acrobatics Champion – Nicola Matarazzo [Italy]
- Pillow Fighting Champion – Leandro Silva [USA]
- Doing Nothing Champion – Denis Kwan Hong-Wang [Hong Kong]
You’ll notice that none of them are known for Pokemon, that’s because the message here is that with Pokemon Champions anybody can be a champion… although, I must say, these people are clearly already champions… albeit of unrelated things.
Ray Rizzo, the three-time World Champion will coach participants in Pokemon battling ahead of the event, sharing his own way of going about playing Pokemon Champions, his own strategies, and tips on how you can become a winner with a little bit of luck.
This event will be livestreamed in a global showdown, which will be live on the Official Pokemon Twitch channel and Official Pokemon Youtube channel. In past years, watching the stream has allowed Pokemon Go players to receive some small in-game items., so if you are a Go player, keep an eye out. Winners of the competition will be sent to the 2027 Pokemon World Championship.
