E3 2017 | Need For Speed: Payback Detailed

Need for Speed: Payback had a little bit extra gameplay shown off after the EA Play live stream. We’ve wrapped up some of the extra details that came out of it.

Need For Speed: Payback had a very dramatic gameplay trailer on show during the conference, with a dramatic mission featuring the protagonist  hurtling after a truck trying to bring it to a stop. As it turns out, the player is trying to chase down a truck that contains a car that was originally stolen from the players.

A member of the development team, Ghost Games, was on hand and explained that there would be three characters to play as in Need For Speed: Payback, and, in addition, there will be cops. The gameplay shows a lot of slow-motion takedowns, and dramatic, quick cuts to cinematic moments during gameplay, a very similar style to how Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit played out.

Car customisation will also be coming in, with players being able to tune up their cars performance, but there also a “Derelict” slot. Basically, players get to collect car parts from scrap, and fix up, mod, and rebuild your car for on-road and off-road so that it’s ready for the game’s open world. There are also confirmed to be a large number of brands coming to the game, we’ll have to wait for specifics however.

Need For Speed: Payback will be arriving on November the 10th 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4
