What type of game is it?
Isometric Stealth Action
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
Set in the distant future, you are a disposable hitman sent in to destabilise and neutralise rival groups through the ruins of cities in a post WWIII setting.
What do we like most about it?
The visuals and camera-work look clean and crisp, information like line-of-sight and whether you have been spotted is displayed in an easy to understand way, and items you can interact with – including the vehicle at the end – are clear to see and locate. In short, it just looks extremely user-friendly, regardless of how difficult it may actually turn out to be.
Stealth done right is an odd beast, because it is a fine balance of keeping EVERY character – protagonist especially – vulnerable and weak, while also maintaining a balance of power and coverage to ensure that the challenge isn’t too hard or easy. It’ll be interesting to see how tighter, internal areas work in the game, although that really comes down to the effectiveness of the patrol routes and pathfinding of the enemies in order to ensure it’s not too easy to slip through the net.
When’s it due?
Death Point is currently early in development, and as such lacks a rough release date, when it does launch, however, it is planned to launch for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux.
