Project CARS 2 seems to be estimated to be coming around about September time this year according to Slightly Mad Studios CEO, Ian Bell.
Project CARS 2 have their own official forum, and it’s on this forum that one user asked,
It sounds like we are getting pretty close now (7 months of QA would mean potentially a late July/early August possible release? Still inline wiht your original target.).
When can we expect to hear about pre-order details?
CEO, Ian Bell popped on to answer that question with,
It’s still a very tight run as we’re a bit behind on GUI and Career so nothing is set in stone yet. Current guess is Septemberish.
While it isn’t set in stone, the fact the CEO has stated a rough area for release means that they have sights set for the game to be in some form of completed state for around about then.
The original Project CARS came in 2015 and has done really well for itself. In another exciting forum post, Ian Bell also posted,
We have rewritten the rendering system. We have added multiple newly written and very important modules to the physics, drivetrain, differential and tire modeling systems. The FFB system is now much more intuitive and comes with presets. The handling is transformed, in a very very good way. I’m biased I know but right now in the latest build I have, those cars that have all of the new systems in place have raised the bar for simulation… and this is before they are polished.
So it really sounds like Project CARS 2 is going to be very interesting and a huge step up from the original. I’m really excited to see where they go with this, as well as how they run the career mode.
Project CARS 2 is set for release sometime in 2017, possibly around about September time, and will make its way to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
