UNO That Launched on Consoles Last Summer Now on PC

UNO, the classic 1971 physical card game I remember playing years and years ago when we had power cuts, came out as an XBLA release by Carbonated Games in 2006. It was then released by Ubisoft for PS4 and Xbox One last summer, and is now heading to PC.

Ubisoft’s UNO will support video chat alongside new “theme cards” that bring a twist to the game. There will be a classic mode allowing players to play UNO as it was from 1971 onwards, or you can create your own rules. You’ll be able to play offline or online, and there is a crossover with some of Ubisoft’s titles. for example, there will be a Rabbids theme already included, as well as Rayman, and Just Dance DLC packs. These DLC’s will feature their own individual “theme cards” that are related to the franchise.

Rayman will see players swatting cards back to their opponents, and mixing up other players hands. Just Dance will bring theme cards that affect all opponents rather than just one, for example, you’ll find round times slowing down.

As some may remember, the XBLA version intertwined with an adult community, who used their webcams to engage in strip UNO; leaving multiplayer lobbies somewhat unsafe for a younger audience. Yikes! Hopefully it’ll be better moderated this time round, but it’s a word of warning.

UNO is now available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 users.
