Sundered Second Trailer And New Details Come Forth
Thunder Lotus, developers behind Sundered have released a new “Embrace” Trailer showing combat, jumping, spinning, and a fancy art style.
Sundered is a game that the developer calls a “replayable Metroidvania”, allowing you to venture along a side-scrolling world, which the trailer shows the third region of the game, the Eschaton City in action. You’ll face enemies that spawn in procedurally generated dungeons
When enemies die, they drop shards. Players must collect the shards and once they die, they return to a hub, which has a skill tree where they can spend those shards on upgrades, perks, or abilities.
In a PlayStation blog written by William Dube, the Creative Director at Thunder Lotus Games, he writes about how the procedural dungeons are created, saying that each death results in a total reshuffling of the rooms, and while the overall structure of the world is solidified, every level will be different.
The monsters are also spawned unpredictably. meaning they will spawn wherever depending on various factors of the game, such as how long players are taking to progress, stress levels, and regions.
The game is set for release on PC and PS4 in 2017.
The trailer is available below, as is the source to the full PlayStation blog where William talks more in-depth about the mechanics we have mentioned, a very good read.
