Select Codemasters Titles Disappearing from Storefronts

At the very end of last year, GOG saw Codemaster’s (fantastic) Racedriver: GRID removed from its storefront following a goodbye sale on the title.

Shortly after that, as pointed out on Reddit, GRID, as well as F1 2013 and Dirt 3 (which hadn’t been on sale on GOG) were removed from the Steam storefront.

While there’s been no official line on why the games are rapidly making an exodus from digital storefronts, PC Gamer cite a pulled e-mail which mentioned expiring licenses.

While this could be down to a car model or manufacturer license, the Dirt 3 and F1 didn’t have much crossover at all with car models (while the original GRID was wonderfully eclectic). This means that it could well have come down to the LeMans license, as LeMans was definitely in GRID & Dirt 3, although I’m unsure whether it featured in F1 2013.

Expect to hear more as it develops.
