The Pokemon Centre online has, as part of Pokemon 30th Collection, been releasing new themed products this year as part of its continued celebration of the franchise’s history. Previously, purchasing these items resulted in getting a free sticker with the Pokemon 30th Collection Pikachu on it, but now they’ve upgraded the free gift to a commemorative key chain; Something which feels much more robust than a simple sticker and much more worth the minimum spend on Pokemon items that’s required to get it, although there is a catch.
If you spend £40 or more on specifically items from the Pokemon 30th collection, the key chain will be added to your purchase automatically, however it’s a case of while supplies lasts. Surprisingly, the newest batch added to the collection isn’t just stuff with the strange Pikachu logo on it. (I, am personally not a fan of the 30th anniversary Pikachu which feels quite plan, with the 3 and 0 for cheeks.)
There are a bunch of new things in this batch, ranging from denim jackets, to puzzles, through to mugs and water bottles. They also have some very striking and fantastic artwork as well, that are full of color. There’s even some specific plushies and skateboards, if you are into that. I quite like the designs of the patches and pins, as they look like girlscout badges, which fits well with the idea of going into the woods and doing tasks, like a Pokemon trainer.
Some of the collection are already selling out, particularly items with the Opening Scene design (which look retro and come in an off-green color) along with some of the pins and patches within the collection, so you do need to purchase quickly.
The Pokemon Centre online also sells a bunch of other products from trading cards to plushies, however these purchases will not count towards the free key chain gift! You might still get the sparkly Pikachu sticker in those orders, if supplies are still in stock. Pokemon merch does always make a fantastic gift!
