Path of Exile 2 is discounted and Return of the Ancients is free for the weekend
Path of Exile 2’s latest expansion is free for the weekend, allowing you to try out the newest features while your’e hiding from the Summer sun (if you happen to be in the United Kingdom, where it’s very warm this week).
The Path of Exile 2 expansion, Return of the Ancients, adds over 50 hours of new endgame content, with bosses, pinnacles, classes, and an overhaul to the crafting system. This expansion came out earlier this month, and for this weekend only, you can play it for free.
We’ve previously reviewed Path of Exile 2, when it first released:
“With no significant microtransactions to get in the way of gameplay and a feature rich experience even despite the price tag being free, Path of Exile 2 is well worth a look for any ARPG fan. At this point, I see my relationship with Path of Exile 2 getting stronger as the content launches in live form — whereas I now see no reason to return to Diablo IV, with the seasonal content leaving me feeling colder with each iteration.”
I’ve spent 20 hours on Path of Exile 2 – and now I’ll never play Diablo IV again
From May 29th to June 1st, PDT, players can try out the new challenge league, Runes of Aldur, and explore the massive endgame update. The Runes of Aldur league introduces eight challenges where they can earn a piece of the Knight of Aldur Armor Set, along with a totem decoration for their Hideout. These are cosmetic, and do not add to your character’s power in any way, but are fantastic for fans.
There is also a Discord Quest avatar decoration that will be granted to those who play Path of Exile 2 for 15 minutes over the duration of the event.
If you’ve not got Path of Exile 2 yet, it will be 50% off in the Early Access Supporter Pack, where you can get the full game along with 150 points to spend in the in-game store.
