Speedy Strategy, 9 Kings adds multiplayer mode
9 Kings, a fast-paced, roguelike kingdom builder where you must grow your empire and fight massive battles against powerful rival kinds, has had an update that brings multiplayer action to the game. Multiplayer was widely requested by the community, so this update is a well recieved one. It comes along with the announcement that 9 Kings has now hit the 1 million sales milestone.
We previously reviewed 9 Kings:
“Extra layers come in that you can choose to declare war, or make peace, with other factions which is a clever way of masking a deck building element (you can’t access their cards if you’re not warring with them), and there’s a solid perk system which adds in a lot of room for chaos when it comes to replaying. But, it doesn’t need to be incredibly in-depth, at the moment it’s an accessible micro-strategy deck-builder (or, indeed, engine builder) built to be played in 20-30minute runs, and it’s perfect how it is.”
9 Kings is an engine-builder all about army and base optimisation
In 9 Kings, you can now play against your friends or complete strangers. The competitive modes that have been added allow players to battle to be the last king standing against themselves. In keeping with the title, nine players can face off, trying to see who’s kingdom is the best.
Each participant receives ELO points based on their performance, so that even if they don’t come out victorious, they will leave with something. There are also nine ranks on the global leaderboard and players can get nine points to move between the different ranks, with competition intensifying at KING level. If you end up high enough on the leaderboard each season, you can earn medals that can be used to purchase new cosmetic items.
9 Kings has also announced it will be coming to mobile later this year, but for now, you can play this update on PC.
