Masquerada: Songs and Shadows, Witching Hour Studios’ tactical RPG, will release on Xbox One & PS4 on the 8th of August.
Witching Hour Studios’ 2016 Kickstarter success, Masquerada: Songs and Shadows, has been confirmed for console releases later this year.
The tactical RPG, which raised just over 130% of its £45k goal back in early 2016, launched on PC & Mac in September of last year. The game currently has a ‘Very Positive’ score on its Steam page.
For those unaware, the game follows Cicero Gavar, a previously exiled sleuth who has been summoned back the the magic-meets-medieval city of Citte dellla Ombre to investigate the kidnapping of one of the nation’s diplomats. In the game’s strange setting people have zero faith in religion, instead believing that the only way to be remembered is to be recalled by the bards – something the wealthy can do with ease. Civil war laps at the rigid gulf of class-divide, as rebels among the poor seek to be elevated to history.
Most interesting however is the combat system, players can pause at any point in order to queue up movements and attacks for your party – taking the game from an ARPG to a more tactical affair.

In addition to being the day that the console versions release, the PC version will also receive a New Game+ mode with additional dialogue and boss fights on that date. This content will be included with the console versions.
