LEGO Festival 2026 will include LEGO Pokemon SMART Play sets at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort
LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is hosting it’s LEGO Festival for the second year running. This festival is a celebration of LEGO, with different stations set up around the park, where you can build and enjoy types of LEGO, along with themed food, live shows, LEGO characters, and so much more. Headlining this event, LEGO has announced that there will be a LEGO Pokemon Play Zone, ahead of the release, so that players can get their hands on these LEGOs and try them out before purchasing them.
In the Pokemon Play Zone, players will be able to get hands-on with a 15-minute long LEGO Pokemon: Trainer Centre experience. This being time-locked does feel like the right move, so that more people can access the LEGO and spend time building. They will be able to build their own LEGO Poke Ball, and then bring it to life using the LEGO SMART Play activities in this zone. There is also going to be a photo point where players can strike a pose with LEGO Pikachu!
There will be a selection of 5 Pokemon to take on, using SMART Play, to nature and level up. This creatues a very lifelike Pokemon experience and will eb the first time that these sets are showcased in the public ahead of their release this August.
This try-before-you-buy event, as a part of the LEGO Festival, feels like a very good use of the LEGO Pokemon sets. Those who aren’t sure how the SMART Play aspects of the LEGO work will be able to see it in the flesh, and those who are fans of Pokemon will be able to play around with the LEGO without needing to commit to buy. The fact that this event is taking place before these LEGO sets hit stores is also fantastic.
The LEGO Festival will also feature a bunch of other LEGO Zones, so those in the park will have a fantastic time, Pokemon fans or not, with all of the activities.
