What type of game is it?

Adventure

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

You play as the prey of every beast on the island; a mouse with humongous ears and an unnecessarily long tail, trying to survive against predators and save your friends.

What do we like most about it?

I’m a big fan of the more freeform 3D platformers that this seems to be channelling, and it’s nice to see a game where there are simply no power-ups, and you’re not a pumped up superhero-type wreaking havoc about the place. As a matter of fact, the somber looking mouse feels like a classic, unrealistic hero of an older title dragged into a slightly more realistic style.

Alongside the launchers shown in the trailer, the protagonist will be able to use several other abilities -including hurling bombs and rocks, and swipes of the tail – in order to disable the enemies as you lead it about through the seven different areas of the island to try and save the other mice around the game world.

Potential aside for a moment however, the game is very early in development and that shows; certain effects and art assets are great, however other elements really betray it as an alpha being developed within Unity. This said, there is a few videos uploaded by the main developer and they showcase the game is definitely moving along at a pace, and certainly looks better than it did in it’s earliest days – however we’ve truly not good a precise feel of what the game will ultimately look like; although the planned content is awesome.

When’s it due?

Poor Mouse is expected to launch within the next year, optimistically, and is currently planned for release on Windows PC.
