What type of game is it?

Platformer Puzzle

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

A first person platformer where the world’s physics and gravity shifts to suit as you travel Escher-like landscapes.

What do we like most about it?

The minimalist art design is absolutely perfect for a game that looks set to deliver a mass of puzzles based around perception. The music in the trailer also gives a feeling of space and emptiness; one that will hopefully continue in the complete game.

While puzzle games that operate on twisting visuals like Escher style art pieces are becoming increasingly common (especially with the dawn of VR) it’s good to see one built around a consistent element – that being the perception of the stairs and ramps of the game’s various levels.

Inconsistency looks like it could be an especially fun puzzle game, perfect when you want a different type of thinking than the daily grind has made you do. Assuming the price is right, and the game hits Steam at the right time, I’ve no doubt that the game will do well, as it deserves to.

When’s it due?

Inconsistency doesn’t yet have a release date, but when it does launch it is planned for a Windows PC & Linux release.
