Title: Nocturnal Hunt
Developer: Wolf Pack
What type of game is it?
First Person Stealth
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
A stealth action game where you kill -or sneak- your way past the masses of cultist humans using an array of abilities as you play a wolf trying to rescue it’s cub.
What do we like most about it?
Not only does the game completely nail the visuals, the choice to play a wolf in the game further underlines the key features of games that give you that stealth/slaughter choice throughout; you must be inherently weaker when outnumbered, you must stick out of sight, your skills must be non-human.
These three points are the boons that drove Deus Ex, Dishonored, and Tenchu, and it is most definitely the one that makes Nocturnal Hunt perfect. The aforementioned abilities are the brutal animal speed and power that you’d expect from a wolf-on-turbo combined with an instincts vision which shows paths enemies have taken and the highlight of those foes in the distance.
As a fan of games where the stealth route is challenging, but feels exceptionally rewarding, I’m really looking forward to seeing how Nocturnal Hunt turns out. Thankfully there’s not long to wait at all.
When’s it due?
Nocturnal Hunt is set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2016, it is currently listed for launch on Windows PC.
