What type of game is it?

Turn Based Strategy, RPG.

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

An extremely in depth turn-based strategy title that looks perfectly at home next to some of the strong PS1 entries into the genre.

What do we like most about it?

Hartacon Tactics completely nails the isometric turn-based strategy RPG aesthetic. Immediately conjouring up my memories of Vandal Hearts II, Legend of Kartia, and Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis.

The latter is probably the most relevant -for me- to Hartacon Tactics, as you could populate your team with mercenaries from various races, forming your own classes and specialising them through a wide selection of abilities and equipment.

HT builds on that however, as the trailer shows, with a selection of spells and equipment that dwarfs most entries into the genre, and it does it all with a lot of style and depth. Both magic and weapons have effectiveness and range variations, not just the obvious fire vs ice, but also blunt vs armour, and thrown weapons that will break enemy lines with a variety of ailments.

If you’re a fan of the genre then definitely head over to Steam and give the game a vote.

When’s it due?

Hartacon Tactics previously launched on Xbox Live Indie Games (however, for some reason the developer never received money from sales via Microsoft). As such, the game is ready for launch, and we can expect it to launch shortly. When it does launch it will do so for Windows PC.
