Title: Cold Space

What type of game is it?
First Person Shooter
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
A fast-paced multiplayer shooter, where players are in space, and one shot kills.
What do we like most about it?
The floatiness of the space map (due to low gravity, of course) is instantly reminiscent of early sci-fi arena shooters like Quake Arena and Unreal Tournament. The game also looks extremely fluid, and visually sound.
More interesting than the one shot kill and shield combination is one of the pick-ups in particular, the one that gives the ability to see enemies through walls. It reminded me of how cool the rail-gun was in Red Faction; although I doubt Cold Space will see a weapon that can shoot through surfaces, it doesn’t really need one what with the short player lifespans.
Clarification, before launch, on the amount of players in a lobby, as well as game length and how servers are going to work, is required however, but they have a few months to get those details out within.
For a less cinematic, but certainly more frantic look at the game, check out this playtest from last year.
When’s it due?
Cold Space is currently listed for release on Windows PCs in the Summer of this year.
