Feel Like Harambe With Ape Out’s Playable Trailer
APE OUT is an upcoming title in which players play as an Ape on the escape for freedom, battling enemies with guns, and…well you’re a gorilla.
Developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, APE OUT puts players in a simplistic, top-down environment where bold colours illustrate the scenery and characters, and the player controls an ape trying to escape from its captors.
The trailer that can be viewed below not only shows off the gameplay, but also introduces the playable demo that can be downloaded here. The demo is being advertised as a playable trailer because it is a brief experience of the title with a purpose to give players an insight into the gameplay yet to come.
It looks fairly cool so far, and the levels seem to range from tight corridors to big open spaces with traps and breakable props. The Ape also grabs hold of the captors and can smash them and throw them into other captors. There’s gore too. It looks brutal. You can ignore the blood though because the soundtrack sounds like a primal, concrete jungle soundtrack.

This trailer is just a jazz solo and that’s absolutely fine.
