We’ve already had news about the title arriving on physical editions.
The story tells of a lab accident that occurs, the protagonist, Trace awakens on a mysterious alien world, a world named Sudra. Trace goes on a quest to defeat, “Athetos” with a goal to uncover the secrets of this world. The thing is, Trace is unsure if he has been beamed to a distant planet, or if he’s merely trapped inside a computer simulation.
The game focuses on a non-linear exploration element, and there are loads of tools and abilities, as well as weapons and upgrades to improve health, power, and attributes. The game also welcomes glitches, stating that in-game glitches allow you to break past the boundaries of normal gameplay, an element to further solidify Trace’s concerns about being trapped in a computer simulation. There are dozens of creatures and bosses to battle, and with a Speedrun mode included, players can blitz through levels.
Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition is to be available on PlayStation Vita, PS4, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch and will be arriving this August 2017.
