The Mages Tale, InXile Entertainment’s First VR Foray, is Out Now
InXile Entertainment have released A Mage’s Tale; A spin-off of their classic The Bard’s Tale but with a major twist,.VR.
A Mage’s Tale, which follows an apprentice mage enlisted by your captured master, Mage Alguin, to save the day (and their master), is the first VR title to come from Brian Fargo’s studio.
The studio is perhaps best known for Torment: Tides of Numenera, Wasteland 2, and the the legacy of Interplay’s Golden Age which Fargo carries with him. As a founder of Interplay he oversaw many teams and developers who would go onto great things; Blizzard, Treyarch, Bioware, to name a few.
A Mage’s Tale offers multiple methods of play, from spell-slinging shootouts, to exploration and puzzle sections. It also has multiple movement methods, players can either point-and-click to move using the controller, or they can navigate using a square-by-square movement system.

The Mage’s Tale has launched exclusively for the Oculus Rift, however other platforms -including the Vive- will be supported in the future.
