E3 2017 | Transference Trailer Features Frodo Baggins, Release Month Revealed
Transference received a live-action announcement trailer featuring Elijah Wood. It was…different.
As it turns out out, Transference is a psychological VR thriller made by Ubisoft and SpectreVision. The latter, if you’ve not heard of it, is a creative media company founded by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, and Lisa Whalen. Their plan is to create character driven stories which toy with emotions and human experiences, ultimately aiming to challenge conventions.
Transference is a dark experience which will see you exploring a multi-dimensional home with secrets tucked away, as well as a family with a secret that you must uncover. Driven by a complex string of choices and narratives players get to decide how characters continue with their lives.
The game will be arriving in the Spring of 2018. It will be a VR specific title launching on PSVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive – meaning it will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. Yes – Xbox One.
There hasn’t been any gameplay shown as of yet, but it certainly sounds like an interesting title. The trailer below shows an ending screen that features a “Gameplay” button, so while there’s no footage to show yet, it seems like it won’t be long until we do see something.
