New Gameplay Demo Lands For Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot is a title from my very childhood. I can’t remember how many times I completed it, and I can’t recall how many times I died. Quite a lot, either way, the Crash Bandicoot remaster coming from Vicarious Visions and being published by Activision is looking fancy, and I thought I’d give a quick run down on everything I know about the upcoming, Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy.

Back on the 3rd of December 2016, players were given a trailer through Activision’s YouTube channel which showed off a lot of gameplay from both the classic titles, and merging them with the remastered gameplay. It was an exciting time and confirmed that we were getting a remaster for the following titles all in the same game.

  • Crash Bandicoot®
  • Crash Bandicoot® 2: Cortex Strikes Back
  • Crash Bandicoot®: Warped

The trailer was purely just a remaster, and there was no mention of a new Crash Bandicoot story. It was then confirmed on Twitter that Debi Derryberry, the original voice actor for Coco Bandicoot would be returning to the title to offer her voice to the remastered titles.

Not long after that we got confirmation on a release date, with the title being due to arrive on the 30th of June 2017. Screenshots were also leaked during this period. There was also confusion over exclusivity when PlayStation Ireland tweeted about the title returning to PlayStation. It was later looked into and the possibility of the game being a timed exclusive was good odds.

There was also a walkthrough video that showed off the gameplay during the “Hang Eight” level, getting people more and more excited the upcoming title. For weeks the official Crash Bandicoot Twitter posted nothing but comparison images/GIF’s/videos and basically went into tease overdrive. We got to see Dr. Cortex in his new found glory, another walkthrough on the “Sewer or Later” level, and other characters, the Polar Bear and several bosses.

We then got thrown some remastered cover art hitting the socials too.

The titles have been built from the ground up with brand new audio recordings from the original cast, and freshly made assets. It’s also supporting full-HD and 4K. There is also a new Time Trials mode available and will allow players to blitz through the levels and earn a place on the online leaderboards. However, there is no confirmation that there will be online play availability.

And now we’ve got a brand new gameplay demo as seen below in which we get to see Crash jumping about in Orange Asphault, Double Header, and Gone Tomorrow.
