What type of game is it?
Horror
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
You awake to find yourself alone and helpless trapped in an procedurally generated apartment complex; alone that is until the dynamic, hunting AI start seeking you out.
What do we like most about it?
Procedural generation, when combined with enemies that can adapt to the altered environment as well as players is surely the next step for the horror genre; if done correctly then the psuedo-randomness of proc-gen will give replayability to a genre that thrives on surprising and confusing the player.
Mechanics aside, the game has a wonderful, slightly cartoon art style that works really well with all the reds, yellows and oranges that are painted by the dynamic lighting. Although, I wouldn’t stop and stare for too long as the game has no checkpoints or restart options – instead setting you out with a single life before regenerating the housing complex for the next attempt.
When’s it due?
Gojigaboga is set to release for Windows PC later on this year.
