Checkmark Games announced recently that Shattered Thrones has been released, and with it comes a launch trailer.
Shattered Thrones is a game about a prince trying to restore a fallen empire under attack from zombies, dryads, necromancers, and more. There are three armies, each with their own tactics towards the war.
Shattered Thrones features a level builder, an online PvP mode, an unlimited undo system to retrace your steps and try another approach, a combo system to string attacks, villages that can be upgraded to boost economy and build special units. There are also,
- Choose your general from a variety of characters, each with their own special powers and enhancements
- Strategy without the random, results are fully deterministic
- Battle the AI across a sprawling campaign with unique battles
- Three unique armies, each with their own distinct play style
- Units gain experience by defeating enemies, yielding powerful champions and heroes
- Build your own maps and share them through Steam Workshop
- Battle others online with asynchronous game play
The trailer shows the game in action, and it seems to bring an overly retro feel to the game, spanning a top down view of the turn-based combat. The ratio also looks like it doesn’t support 16:9 and seems to mimic a type of “emulator”. It looks very action packed, and worth a look.
