The Guild 3 Day-Night Trailer Shows off In-Game Visuals
Golemlabs and THQ Nordic have released a new trailer showing off the day-night cycle of upcoming strategy title The Guild 3.
The Guiild 3 has a new trailer which shows off some of the in-game visuals, but specifically seeks to highlight the impressive lighting effects of the day & night cycle.
The game is the latest entry in the long-running series which had its start back in 2002 under JoWood Productions and 4HEAD Studios. It’s THQ Nordic (who acquired JoWood’s IP selection previously) and GolemLabs who are taking the helm this time however, with the latter developing the game on an engine previously used for the Darksiders series.
A major focus has been made on the game’s AI, as well as the way that cities evolve and change over time. The game will also launch with 16-player multiplayer.
Here’s the official blurb for the game, and essentially the series, from its website:
A unique mixture of economic simulation, strategy game, historical life simulation and role playing game in 3D!
Europe in the year 1400: The dark middle ages, once dominated by nobles and the clergy, came to an end and a new era begins: the age of free, prospering cities, trading and an open mind-set!
One of the goals in the The Guild series is to create a family dynasty which can last for centuries. While the world around you and your dynasty rearranges itself time and time again – all non-player characters (NPCs) make their own decisions –, you have to prove your skills in artisan craftwork and trading, participate in social occasions and perfect your political schemes and malicious intrigues.
You can find the short video -which focuses on showing off the in-game effects of the day & night cycle- below, and find out more information on the game’s website.
The Guild 3 does not currently have a set release date, but is expected to launch this year for Windows PC.
