The Beautiful World of RiME Gets a Launch Trailer
RiME came out a few days ago, the 26th of May 2017 to be precise, but we missed the launch trailer!
Developed by Tequila Works, RiME takes place in a stunning world, a single-player world no less, where players take control of a young boy who wakes up on the island, then embarks on an adventure to uncover the secret of the island by solving puzzles, exploring areas, and doing so with the help of an unlikely friend, a helpful fox.
It’s a title that has now launched on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and soon to be announced, Nintendo Switch, but it’s a title that struggled, with rumours and the like causing hard times. Such as rumours of the game being cancelled when in fact the developers were moving to a bigger office,
When we announced that we were acquiring back Rime’s IP there were cancellation rumours. The truth is that in that precise moment we were moving to a bigger office. That’s pretty far from being closing a Company, isn’t it? – Raul Rubio (IGN)
Rubio revealed that the game was possibly going to be cancelled due to technical issues rather than business issues.
“That [possibility] was always for technical reasons,” – Raul Rubio (IGN)
Despite all this, RiME went from strength to strength, with the Developers moving to a new engine, to them working with Sony, then to gaining Grey Box as a publisher, and they even got Lindsey Stirling on board to create a mesmerising instrumental for the game. Check it out.
