Crania Games’ Roots of Insanity hauntingly arrives with a launch trailer that shows off the terrifying gameplay.
Now, I’m a fan of horror games, and at the same time I hate them because of how they freak me out. I hate hospitals, and combining a hospital with horror is a terrifying experience usually. Roots of Insanity is a title that is set in a dark hospital, with the player taking control of Dr. Riley McClein, who is trying to overcome their epileptic attacks, while they figure out what is real, and what isn’t. They’re also seeking out the truth regarding the mysterious happenings that are going on within the hospital.
This isn’t an atmospherical horror title in which you can’t fight back, Roots of Insanity allows you to hack and slash your way through creatures. Sadly the launch trailer doesn’t show that, really you’re just being given a FPS tour of a level, showing off the haunting, blood stained corridors of the hospital.
Still, it looks terrifying, jump scare filled, and the title also allows a loot system, as well as random areas to explore as you progress through the main storyline.
