While they’re known for a lot of different things, Razer has become incredibly well known for their mobile game controllers over recent years. As more and more PC and Console games make their way onto mobile phones, there have been more people looking for controllers so that they can play these games more comfortably. However, a lot of the controllers for mobile devices that are on the market right now are actually not very portable. Which is exactly what the Razer Prio has fixed!
The Razer Prio is a compact mobile controller that folds up, becoming the size of a packed wallet, so that you can fit it into your pocket and take it wherever your mobile phone is going. This is a USB-C compatible gaming controller, that you can push to open, putting out the controller and making it stable by putting your phone into it. The controller does support small to medium phone cases, which means you do not even need to take off your case, as there is an included buffer, which can snap in if you do not have a phone case. It just seems like Razer thought of everything with this!
I was able to get hands on with the Razer Prio, which feels just great. My phone felt very much safe inside, it was impressive to see the way the cables themselves are hidden in the back strap, and the buttons were fantastic. All of them had a good feel – it’s a full sized controller – and it makes for a great way to upgrade your gaming device. There is very low latency silent tactile face buttons, and it’s created to reduce drift.
The controller is also plug and play instantly – no app, no need to charge it, everything just works seamlessly. In a time when every single device I have ever connected to my phone has it’s own app, I really appreciate that this is just a pure controller, perfect for use day to day by anyone who enjoys gaming whether that be at home, on a bus, or on the train.
