Paradox: Pillars of Eternity Coming to PS4, Xbox One; Cities: Skylines to PS4

Colossal Order’s City Builder and Oblivion Interactive’s CRPG making journey to new platforms.

Paradox Interactive have announced that they will be bringing Obsidian Interactive’s Pillars of Eternity to both the Xbox One & PS4 later this year. They also announced that Cities: Skylines which launched on the Xbox One earlier on in the year, would be making the journey to Sony’s console.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition will include both the original title and the two expansions (The White March Parts I & II) when it launches on PS4 & Xbox One on the 29th of August.

Pillars of Eternity originally funded via a very successful Kickstarter back in 2012 before launching on the PC in 2015. The sequel is currently in the post-campaign stage of a FIG campaign where it has already earned over $4.4 million dollars.

Cities: Skylines, from Colossal Order, will come to the PS4 as the originally named, ‘Cities: Skylines – Playstation 4 Edition’ on the 15th of August. this follows a launch on Xbox One earlier in the year, and a PC launch in early 2015.

The Playstation 4 Edition will be bundled with the game’s first expansion, After Dark, which allowed players to specialise their city’s commercial areas in Leisure or Tourist opportunities which come alive at night.

Both of the games have undergone adaptions (by Paradoxes Arctic studio, and Tantalus Media respectively) and UI changes as to ensure they’ll run at their best.

Hopefully Paradox’s continued moves towards new platforms (including helping with Prison Architect’s move to mobile) will see some of their deep, grand-strategy titles also moved over to various platforms in the future. Time will tell.

Both award-winning titles have been redesigned for console players with controller-friendly gameplay and UI, and will be available in August for their respective platforms.
