The lovely people at Yogscast Games have put together a little Steam sale, from now until the 13th of August, where they are highlighting what they’ve defined as Tiny Teams. These are micro studios that have massive ideas. There are tons of unreleased games featured in this Steam Sale, however, we’ve picked out a bunch of discounted games that we’ve enjoyed, to hopefully give you some guidance on which to pick out:
Raccoin
“If you are particularly lucky and manage to child up a big enough combo of dropping coins into the shoot you might get a go at spinning the wheel of prizes that can give you prize items to modify the coins in play or a chance to spin a second wheel which creates a coin tower or offers rarer prizes. I have to say there is something very satisfying about getting the 520 coin tower and watching it come crashing down as I launch a tornado coin into it and coins shoot off in every direction.”
Everything Is Crab
“If you stayed away from the genre because it seemed too arcadey and based around simple “number go up” stats, then Everything is Crab might be the perfect time to jump in. It has diverse enemy types with their own behaviours, a living world that cares (Or doesn’t) about the player and run-changing upgrades that completely alter the look of your character as you go. It got 150k sales in its first two days for a reason.”
Forbidden Solitaire
“Forbidden Solitaire is a fun twist on a well worn genre. Whilst it can’t shake the potentially repetitive gameplay style that it’s built around, there’s plenty there to keep you pushing on to the next area to see what weird creatures the developers have dreamed up next. This isn’t going to make people that hate solitaire suddenly want to play it, but it does have enough of a fun theme to entertain those who just want something reasonably light to play whilst enjoying a bonkers story.”
Pigeon: A Love Story
“On the other hand, it was a surprisingly freeing experience, just making my way through the skies and occasionally calling out for the one of the thousands of birds that I had to find. I guess, in that same way, it was quite a thoughtful and lonely experience – something not dissimilar to living in a busy city – where you can pass by hundreds of people on a street, yet not connect with a single one of them.”
Wobbly Life
“With a world this big, it is even more fun to explore with your friends. You can have your friends join the world, and though you don’t need to interact with them directly, having them drive near you and showing them a new place you have just discovered. This game is quite big, with hours of fun gameplay, and is completely family friendly. It’s a joy to play with younger members of the family too.”

The Holy Gosh Darn
“It turns out that there is a way to save heaven, but it’s with a painting called The Holy Gosh Darn, which you don’t know much about at all. You will need to find out what this artifact is, how to obtain it, and get it put at the Gates of Heaven! It’s a challenge, but makes for a fun adventure.”
Rhell: Warped Worlds and Troubled Times
“There’s a lot of love gone into the making of Rhell and from the short time I spent with it I’d be happy to play a lot more and experiment with all of those spells to see just what would be possible in such a reactive world.”

BALL X PIT
“Speaking of the grind in BALL x PIT, it is a game that you are going to have to play time and time again to really get anywhere with it. Whether the RNG just doesn’t work out, you slip up and take just one too many hits or you just aren’t strong enough you will be replaying levels to progress and make each character stronger.”
Escape the Backrooms
“I also liked the variety of difficulty options, including one that completely ends your game should any player die. Only for the very brave and those immune to frustration. Yes, the visuals are a bit ropey at times, and some of the monsters are a little irritating to deal with, but if you have a group of like minded buddies, you can do a lot worse than spending some evenings running around completely lost.”
Peak
“Nearly a year has passed since Peak’s initial release and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. They’ve even had an in-game concert, similar to those held by Fortnite, hosted by popular artist bbno$! If Peak has accomplished this much in such a short time, I’m excited to see what they continue to do!”
