Greenlight Highlight | Shuyan Saga
Title: Shuyan Saga
[Greenlight Page]
What type of game is it?
Interactive Fiction, with 3D Action segments.
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
Play as Shuyan, a princess who sets off to become a revered martial artist, while also having to defend her home against an encroaching hostile army.
What do we like most about it?
The promise of a great story, some truly amazing looking artwork (over 1000 panels of it) as well as what looks like a very well animated, fluid combat system. It all comes together to look like an extremely polished story experience that’ll be hard to put down.
The game has an amazingly high production value, with (currently unnamed) professional voice talent joining award winning artists, writers and composers to make up the team.
My only concern with the game, rather than it’s three alternate endings, is the length of the game, and how its three episodes will be divided up. Will we be buying three separate titles to complete the story, or will the other two episodes be delivered later? Ultimately, it could be that these episodes are all contained in the game, with them split up like acts of a play… it’s just that episodes in modern gaming tend to be a model, rather than a structural decision.
Regardless of this concern, I think you’ll agree that this is definitely one to watch out for.
When’s it due?
Shuyan Saga hasn’t currently got a release date, it is listed to release on Windows PC when it does launch.
