What type of game is it?

2D Platformer

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

Resfort is a story-led platform title that sees you journeying through the wilderness trying to track down your friends after they went missing while you were all on a camping holiday.

What do we like about it?

Resfort looks to have a really comfortable pace, and a fantastic art style. There’s certainly nothing wrong with simplicity in games, and I’m really glad that there’s been a big focus on storytelling in a 2D platforming motif. There’s been no discussion on the magical/spiritual elements of the game that become apparent at certain points in the trailer; and they’ve also not touched on the dark-world/shadow-world/darkness parts of the video we see which have ghost-like platforms and the unsettling prism effect.

The developers cite that there’s going to be an extensive story mode, split into nine chapters. That does indeed sound brilliant (as long as the setting changes up a little as the story goes on) however I’m equally interested in the extremely modular and simple looking level editor that is included in the game. Those interested in seeing the editor at work can find it being demonstrated in the second video over on it’s greenlight page.

When’s it due?

Resfort is currently listed as ready for launch in October of this year. At the moment it’s showing as compatible for Windows PC, but
