[Kickstarter Page]

What type of game is it?

Puzzle, Adventure

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

Explore a Caribbean island by learning, and solving puzzles based around, the history of astronomy and science in order to save a besieged family of explorers.

What do we like most about it?

The developer’s cited Myst as a major influence upon the game, which is certainly apparent in it’s use of puzzles, and exploration of a land that will seem alien to most of us. The idea of combining the puzzle adventure genre with  an education tool is a fantastic one, and from what has been shown they’ve done an excellent job of it.

The game itself is going to be released in two halves, with each one of those split into three chapters. The Kickstarter and Greenlight  are mainly addressing the first chapter which covers (chronologically) up until the challenges over the free-fall motion by Galileo.

While said to be targeted at children around eleven years old, it’s clear from the pitch of the game that this is something that will be enjoyed by adventure lovers of almost any age.

When’s it due?

Odyssey is set to release in May 2017, when it does launch it will do so for Windows PC & Mac.
